Mobile by Joshua McGarvey

Steel and wire entwined with antenna and tape measure, cut through by a vintage knife, bound in indigo fibers and crystal. Fragments of jewelry and cloth shimmer at the edges. A moving artifact of memory, sharpened and reimagined.

In his exhibition Assembly of the Forgotten, artist Joshua McGarvey reimagines the afterlives of ordinary objects through playful assemblage. 

Joshua McGarvey is a multidisciplinary artist working in sculpture and assemblage. Using found and repurposed objects, he transforms the overlooked into poetic forms that carry humor, memory, and tension, inviting viewers to see the uncanny intimacy within the ordinary.
